The Yorke Hotel sits in the main street of Yorketown, a busy rural centre at the heart of Southern Yorke Peninsula, an area noted for its lush farming country and fishing.

The Yorke Hotel bar is home to TAB and Keno services, and trades seven days a week from 10am until late. Strong and varied trade from the township is year round swelling to peak numbers during the high season (October to April) and is also fed from neighbouring towns and areas.
The hotel has an excellent gaming room of 15 modern popular poker machines.
The social club is well organised and strong in numbers. The hotel also hosts 8 Ball and darts competitions in the off season and sporting sponsorship see teams frequent the hotel over the weekends. The Gaming room is home to 15 pokie machines, with a regular clientele and good turn over.
The owners reside in a well appointed residence attached to the hotel. This comprises of spacious dining room and lounge room, two toilets, bathroom, laundry, second shower and a sitting room with a combustion heater. There are seven other rooms used as bedrooms, stylish home office-retreat and storage. Along with a large back yard, makes this an excellent family home with space for family life separate from the main hotel building.
For families there is good schooling both public and private nearby with bus pick up at the front door of the hotel. There are many opportunities for extra curricular activities including sports, life style and leisure. The hotel has been set up to enable an excellent balance between work and family life.
The bottle shop boasts an extensive range and was ranked number two for retail excellence in Australia by Liquor Legends and currently sits in the number one position. (October 2019)
The dining room trades five days a week, lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday. The beautifully presented dining room comfortably seats 80 guests and has a well earned reputation for quality food and hospitality.The hotel boasts a strong dining trade offering a la carte, specials, specialized functions and events, external community events and bar meals.
